Quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu has finally been apprehended. Mugo who is surrounded by controversy is accused of operating an illegal clinic in Nairobi's Kayole estate.

He was arrested by flying squad officers in Gachie, Kiambu County on Tuesday, bringing to an end his cat and mouse game with the police.

According to the law enforcers, Wairimu has been on the run for the last two weeks and has been evading arrest by continuously swapping sim cards.

He was found hiding at his cousin's house in Gachie before the arrest was made at around 7pm.

He had earlier been trailed to Makuyu in Thika before he moved to Gachie.

The arrest comes days after two of his employees were presented in court over similar allegations.

19-year-old Risper Auma Ogony and Victor Gathiru Kamunya (22) were arraigned before a Nairobi court for among others, unlawfully assuming the 'Doctor' title.

They were also charged with operating a health business without verification from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

Additionally, they are facing charges of operating a medical laboratory without licences from the Kenya Medical Laboratory and Technologists Board.

In 2015, Wairimu was again on the spotlight over allegations of sedating and raping a woman at his Prestige Healthcare Clinic in Githurai 44, Nairobi. He was arraigned before a Limuru Magistrate Court where he was charged and released on a Sh2 million bond.

He is being currently being held at the Pangani Police Station.
