Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose camped in Nairobi on Friday as he pushed for inclusion of Ruto in the trip that was also to cover Migori and Kisii.

"His presence on the site was important. I agree it wasn't in his itinerary but I approached him and persuaded him to pass by briefly," said Mose.

He added: "We should all understand that when he appears on the site, the work is expedited. That is the truth. He agreed to come late on Thursday evening."

Kemera-Kiendege-Gachuba-Girango-Keumbu road was first earmarked in 2016 through the leadership of ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire, a critic of Jubilee administration.

At Kemera, Ruto spent around 15 minutes where he also presented a NG-CDF bus to St Mary's Ekerubo Secondary, a move that has further divided the region since he did not elaborate the donor of the bus.
