President Uhuru Kenyatta's impromptu visit to Deputy President William Ruto's Harambee Annex office could yet again raise speculations following reports that the two could be at loggerheads over management of government.

Last week, in a tweet believed to have been directed to DP Ruto, a furious Uhuru insisted that his fight against corruption will not spare even his closest political allies.

"If you are corrupt we will fight you. You can be my brother or my sister or my closest political ally, but if you are corrupt we will fight you,” the President told Kenyans living in the southern African nation," said Uhuru.

DP Ruto has often criticised the ongoing fight against corruption, insisting that DCI George Kinoti is used by certain politicians to sabotage his 2022 bid under the pretext of fight against corruption.

But on Tuesday, the two leaders met at Harambee Annex where they held discussions that lasted for about two hours. State House said that the two leaders only discussed development agenda and government service delivery.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, Dr. @WilliamsRuto today shared a working lunch at the DP's Harambee House Annex office during which the two leaders discussed matters related to the Government‘s development agenda," Uhuru's media team said.

In photos shared on social media, Uhuru is seen having talks with DP Ruto alone. Thereafter, Head of Civil Service Joseph Kinyua and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko are seen in a round table meeting with the two leaders.

Ever since agreeing to work with opposition leader Raila Odinga, Uhuru has struggled to quell storm within Jubilee Party, with the team remaining divided over 2022 presidential elections.
