In 2013, Bosco, who was sentenced to 5 years in jail, vied and lost to Richard Onyonka in Kitutu Chache South elections.

And on social media, his supporters now want the Gusii politician to run for Kisii County Deputy Governor seat.

"The combination not Bosco and Arati will deliver this county from kleptocrats," said James Arisi.

Mary Mouni added on Facebook: "Bosco can be a good deputy for Arati. The geography favours him since in 2022, we are not likely to have a governor from Kitutu clan."

Over the years, the Dagoretti North MP has been pushing for Bosco's release and even funding him while in prison.

Early this year, Arati was crowned Gusii community spokesman after intensive lobbying both in Nyamira and Kisii Counties.

Interestingly, Bosco's farmer rival Mr. Onyonka is also keen to succeed Governor James Ongwae.

"I will not run for anything short of gubernatorial seat. I will go for it and I know I must make it."

Bosco, who steered Raila Odinga's campaigns across Gusii, is known to be a perfect mobiliser and his release could lead to paradigm shift in Gusii politics.
