Deputy President William Ruto earlier today visited the family of Captain Mario Magonga at their Karen home to condole with them.

Ruto through his Twitter handle shared pictures of himself with the late Magonga's family members at their Karen home in Nairobi. 

The deputy President in his message, described captain Magonga as a friendly and humble man. 

"Captain Mario Magonga was an accomplished, disciplined and reliable pilot who loved his job. He was friendly, humble and given to the banter. Captain Magonga was charitable, intelligent and had impeccable credentials. He will be sorely missed," condoled DP Ruto. 

The late Captain Mario Magonga had a wife and three children.

Magonga, a former military pilot died last month when the helicopter he was flying crushed as it left Lake Turkana Central Island.

The helicopter had four American occupants who died in the crash.
