According to Police Spokesperson Charles Owino, two suspects, Ibrahim Ali Buyo and Aden Hassan were arrested in Alinjugur within Fafi sub-county while Mohamed Abdirahim Abdalla was arrested in Hagadera market, Garissa County.

Owino in a statement on Monday said that the suspects are believed to have facilitated the attackers who stormed DusitD2 hotel last Tuesday killing at least 21 people.

The police spokesperson said that they recovered deadly weapons from the suspects.

“We have recovered from the suspect’s three firearms, a Makarov ATM 3846 Pistol with one magazine loaded with eight rounds of ammunition, a new model browning pistol among other deadly weapons,” Owino said.

The arrest of the three suspects brings to eight the number of suspects who are in custody in connection with the DusitD2 attack.

On Friday last week, a court sitting in Nairobi granted detectives 30 days to detain five suspects who had been arrested in connection to the attack.

The five suspects are Guleid Abdihakim (a Canadian), Joel Ng’ang’a Wainaina, Oliver Kanyango Muthee, Gladys Kaarti Justus, and Osman Ibrahim.

Police are calling on Kenyans to remain vigilant and report suspicious people to authorities.
