A 25-year-old man was on Wednesday found dead in a well in Thika, Kiambu.

The man is suspected to have committed suicide as he was found dead a few hours after posting a message on Facebook asking the fastest way to kill oneself.

According to police reports, the man killed himself after losing a bet.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Eric Omondi, a friend to the deceased, said residents found the body floating on the well and later reported the case to police.

"I found residents gathered outside his gate and when I opened the well, I saw the body of my friend floating on the water. We called the police who came and recorded a statement," said Omondi.

John Mwangi, a resident in the area, advised youth to share their problems with the right people whenever they are facing different challenges.

He noted that the case would have been avoided had the deceased opened up about his problems with the right people who could provide solutions.

"The problem with the victim is that he shared his problems with the wrong people," said Mwangi.
