A day after handing over a school  bus to St Mary's Ekerubo Secondary School, a section of Kitutu Masaba residents have questioned DP Ruto's frequent visit to Nyamira over initiation of projects.

Instead, the residents believe the DP is using old projects as a stepping stone to his 2022 bid, with the latest handing over of the bus causing jitters.

"The bus was bought by NG-CDF whose patron is the MP. When he tours other regions, we see him fund raising or even launching new projects but he chose to just handover a bus," said Peter Maroro, former Manga MCA.

His former Magombo colleague Ezra Mochiemo added: "Virtually, his Saturday tour was just PR. Launching an old road project that was funded years ago and handing over a bus bought by NG-CDF."

But Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose has dismissed the divergent opinions, adding that the DP's presence was positive in terms of development to the region.

He accused political opponents for belittling the DP's trip adding that his two visits have seen the constituency benefit.

"For the bus, it was just handing over. But he launched a 12km road stretch and remember in June, we received money for TTCs and last mile connectivity."
