The Governor has since been probed by detectives handling the case and he is set for a DNA test so as to establish his relationship with the deceased.

Apart from calls on the detectives to look deeper into him following suspicions that he could have been closer to the slain beauty, Obado has as well been openly bashed by a section of politicians and human rights activists, forcing him to on Wednesday come out to distance himself from the murder.

‘’I had nothing and absolutely nothing to do with the cruel murder of Sharon,’’ he said during a press conference in Nairobi.

The county chief will, however, enjoy social and political elevation in the instance that he is cleared of the suspicions currently surrounding him.

Among the victims will be Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who on Sunday talked tough, saying that the killers, even if a Governor, must face the law, a statement indirectly aimed at Obado.

His acquittal will, therefore, render Haji a laughing stock, for coming out with a semi-condemning statement on a man who was not involved.

It will as well be a blow to his fellow politicians, especially his fellow Orange party counterparts who have been lately using the incident to hit out at him.

He could easily use the allegations for political elevation, as basking on the sympathy he will have garnered, he can easily improve his performance in his next political bid.
