The picture was shared on Twitter by Daily Nation which was captioned:

“Woman openly uses government’s free tablet for pupils at city wedding.”

This is one of the free tablets the government issued to Standard One pupils after they made the promise during the 2013 campaigns.

This image was captured during a city wedding by Nairobi News on Thursday.

The woman who can be seen smiling is unaware that she was being recorded enjoying a gadget meant for Standard One pupils.

This is clear proof that some government officials misuse public properties for their gains.

The woman must be a teacher or a relative to a teacher, who has access to these gadgets that were meant for the pupils and not capturing pictures and videos at events.

Issuing free laptops to pupils was among the strategies President Uhuru Kenyatta used to win the elections in 2013.

He had promised to give each class one pupil his or her own laptop under the digital literacy programme.

Unfortunately, this programme didn’t come to pass as some schools never received these gadgets as promised.
