This comes after Maangi announced that he will vie for the Kisii gubernatorial seat in the next general election.

According to Maangi, his opponents should stop chest thumbing because it is the electorates who will decide who will be the next county boss.

"I am not afraid to face anyone on the ballot including my friend Mr Onyonka. I am ready to contest against anyone in 2022 to take over the leadership of the county from my boss James Ongwae," he said.

Maangi said he will give his opponents a run for their money because he has the experience.

"I am serving my second term as the Deputy Governor in Kisii County, therefore, this puts me ahead of my opponents because I understand the people across the county, unlike my opponents. For now, I am working around the clock to help my current boss deliver before 2022," he noted.

Speaking on Friday at Magenche area in Kisii County, the Deputy Governor urged residents to ignore politicians who give out handouts instead of focusing on development issues.
