The meeting came just a week before Mr. Gichana's planned homecoming at his Gusii home after five years spell in Tanzania prison.

And a source privy to the meeting said Mr. Wetangula insited that he's focused on running for presidency, adding that his aim is to expand Ford Kenya party.

"He insisted that he's committed in running for presidency. He asked Mr. Bosco to consider joining Ford Kenya before 2022. He also dismissed claims that he has joined William Ruto's camp," said the source, who spoke in confidence.

Mr. Bosco was accompanied by seasoned Nyaribari Chache politician Zaheer Jhanda, who later on conceded that some politics transpired in the meeting.

In Gusii, Ford Kenya party managed to scoop Kitutu Chache South seat through Richard Onyonka and West Mugirango through Vincent Kemosi.

"Today we met Ford Kenya Party Leader Hon. Moses Wetangula and thanked him for the numerous meetings he had with Former Tanzania President J. Kikwete to help secure the release of my brother Don B Gichana and discussed Politics," he said.
