The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered government property valued at Sh780 million both in Nakuru and Bomet counties.

In a statement seen by Hivisasa, the Anti-corruption agency stated that they have taken a proactive approach in preventing crime from further occurrence by conducting the risk assessments which will help tame criminals.

The agency which is mandated by the constitution to fight corruption in the country stated that they have managed to prevent the loss estimated at Sh7.4 Billion in the last fiscal year.

"Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has taken a proactive approach to prevent corruption by conducting Corruption Risk Assessments to seal corruption loopholes and Disruption of corruption," reads the statement in part.

"In particular the Commission has averted loss estimated at Sh7.4 Billion in the 2018/2019 financial year," it reads further.

The recovered assets were handed over to the EACC at Sarova Woodlands in Nakuru Nakuru where eleven (11) public properties were recovered among them the Nakuru Municipality reserved for the survey camp and postal corporation.

Naivasha Municipality that was reserved for research purposes by Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Organization (KALRO) and Sotik Township blocks reserved for the construction of the stadium was also recovered.

Ever since President Kenyatta took office for the second and his final term, the war on corruption has taken centre stage with both agencies the EACC, DCI, ODPP jointly fronting the war on corruption.
