Siaya Senator James Orengo on Saturday made an interesting remark when he pledged his support for the ongoing war on corruption.

Speaking in Segere, Siaya county during the homecoming ceremony of area Governor Cornel Rasanga, the Senator even warned graft suspects that they have nowhere to run to once implicated.

"If named, you will have to carry your own cross. Not even President Uhuru Kenyatta or opposition leader Raila Odinga who kicked off this campaign can save you," he said, in the presence of the former Prime Minister.

But this was a confusing remark, coming from the Senior Counsel who has been in the front line in defending graft suspects, the current one being Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu.

Orengo is speaking from both sides of his mouth and is being insincere, as he is even leading the over-40 member legal team representing Mwilu who is facing graft charges.

This is not the first time he is involved in such, as he was initially seen defending Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong facing similar charges, marking the start of the confusion.

Through his latest moves, it has been hard to understand his actual stand, as he says one thing and does the complete opposite.

The same has similarly been questioned by his colleagues, the latest one being nominated counterpart Isaac Mwaura who noted that he is sending mixed signals.

Speaking on Radio Jambo on Saturday, Mwaura said that Orengo has failed Kenyans who are eager to see corrupt individuals pay for their sins.
