Veteran Journalist John Onyando, in his book: The Failed Quest for Electoral Justice, gives blow by blow account on how the campaign Secretariat nearly messed up Odinga's fourth stab at presidency.

Days to manifesto launch in June 19, 2017, a bitter fallout between businessman Jimmy Wanjigi and Campaign Strategist David Ndii, so the two bitterly exchanging in Raila's presence.

"The strategy group headed by Ndii circulated the manifesto draft through the Secretariat, a group led by Wanjigi edited it without informing Ndii.

"Upon seeing the mangled version of his text, Ndii, who mostly worked from Okoa Kenya, came to Secretariat at Church Road near Westlands to protest changes in Raila's presence," says Onyando, who at the time was working for NASA communication team.

He adds: "Ndii and Wanjigi had a bitter exchange when it emerged that the draft had been tampered with and this resulted to an emergency meeting the following day."

According to him, the meeting would only be attended by the five co-principals and Salim Lone, who had been asked to diplomatically intervene after Ndii threatened ti quit.

The lengthy meeting, which was chaired by Raila, resolved that the two manifestos be printed with many campaign team members preferring Wajingi's version.

In fact, the controversy about the two manifestos would leak to the media and Jubilee campaign team would pick it up to describe NASA as 'clueless'.
