Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi recently dismissed the president’s efforts on fighting graft as one-sided political discourse.

Soy lawmaker Caleb Kositany has also challenged the president to openly declare his support for the DP prior to the 2022 presidential polls.

There has been a lot of issues that rift valley MPs allied to the DP have been asking the president to address.

Majority of them feel that the DP is being targeted in the fight against graft.

Besides, the lawmakers are doubting the credibility of the friendship between Uhuru and DP Ruto.

This being president Uhuru’s last term, he is working hard day and night to leave a good legacy.

He could not be having time to respond to such issues.

Another reason is that the president wants to fully embrace the handshake and ensure Kenya fully heals from the post-election emotions.

He, therefore, does not want to respond to those attacks because he will be seen as taking sides in the Ruto-Raila war.

The president has openly declared to fully help the relevant government agencies to fight corruption in the country.

Now, the majority of the DP’s confidantes claim that the fight against graft is targeting the DP.

The president is avoiding to respond to this because he does not want to favour any side in the fight against graft.

Lastly, the president is in his last term and will not vie for the top seat again and as such, he might not be bothered a lot by the effect that such attacks have on votes from the DP’s home turf.
