Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has affirmed that her remarks echo those of President Uhuru Kenyatta of Mt Kenya supporting ODM leader Raila Odinga in 2022.
The Kirinyaga Governor, who spoke in Kutus on Thursday, said that the region is still ready to form an alliance with Raila and any other development-oriented leader after Uhuru completes his second and final term in office.
She asked leaders not to continue attacking her when she is speaking on behalf of the president. She said that she will not allow other leaders to intimidate her in any way as long as she remains in power, adding that she is a woman without limits.
“Those telling me not to speak should know that I am talking about President Kenyatta, who they neither support nor speak about. They invite outsiders and tell us to support them in 2022. Who has sent them to select a leader for us?” she posed.
She also reiterated that President Kenyatta will give the community direction when that time comes. She further asked elders to guide the people of the region well before the next general elections.
The former Devolution Cabinet Secretary also promised to support the handshake between Raila and Uhuru.
