Mr Wycliffe Simion from Masaba North Sub County is said to have set his three houses on fire before hanging himself in the nearby bush as neighbours struggled to put of the fire.

An eye witness, Karinga Matara, said the estranged man fought his wife for the better part of Thursday evening before resorting for the worst; hanging himself.

"I had to separate them on Thursday night as they fought. It's a domestic battle that has lasted for many years with his wife, Gechengi," he said, adding that he committed suicide as they struggled to put of the fire.

In the house, Mr Simon popularly known as Kaka, who has been doing bodaboda business, is said to have used petrol to torch three houses before running to the nearby bush where he terminated his life.

Riamoni Chief Francis Rasugu confirmed solving domestic disputes between the deceased and his lover but regretted the suicide tragedy which occurred in the morning.

"I have solved their disputes for a long time but I least expected him to commit suicide. It's really unfortunate and young couple should seek guidance all the time," he said.

The body of the deceased was fetched from the scene by the police and taken to Gucha Morgue in Keroka awaiting burial.
