Ruto’s remarks come after popular Kikuyu musician Kimani Wa Turacco released a song dubbed ‘Hatuna Deni, Kitaeleweka’ which loosely translates to 'we owe no one any debt, we must end this'.The song, which urges voters from Central Kenya not to support the DP’s 2022 presidential bid, sparked a debate online with a section of Kenyans accusing the musician of spreading hate. However, the DP on Sunday brought the debate to an end when he stated that no owes him any debt.“There has been debate doing rounds on who owes who what... I want to remind leaders what Paul says in Romans 13:8; Owe no man anything except the debt of love for one another. That is the debt that all of us have, to love one another; no person, no community, no section of Kenya, owes anybody, including myself, anything,” said Ruto during a service at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi."Where I have come from to be the Deputy President of Kenya is by the grace of God, and if I will be the President of Kenya, it’s not by someone or a community paying any debt to me,” he added, during an interview on NTV.His remarks elicited mixed reactions among a section of Kiambu residents. Here’s what they had to say: Wambui Wa Mwangi said: "True…en in Jesus name u will be prezzo come 2022 bt me will never vote."Mary Njeri said: "I like the debate its clear my deputy prezzo keep it up and let the will of God be done."Nancy Wa Thuo said: "True not by any community I love this ...kura yangu kwako."Marie Anne Jay said: "Wow!!! God is great!!! It's surely by the grace of God that he is who he is!! His humility before God will take him to greater heights!!!! I see no rudeness there! I love my D.P."Caroline Wahome said: "Which God...he's there by stealing. YK92, maize scandals....etc. God is good....you can't punish his children and you will never be president. Handout blood money to bloggers till you’re broke."Ndugu Njogu said: "Wisdom reloaded, sioni mtu wa kushindana na Ruto, he is a genius." Berny George said: "I simply like and wish the very best to Ruto...Now Central province busybodies can do something else ... knowing Ruto don't think they owe him anything.."Jacqueline Ndumi Wambua saiud: "I have never supported Ruto on anything, but this one it's very True. Only by the Grace of God. It doesn't matter whether we like him or not, whether nikurudisha mkono or not, only what God wants matters."
