Victor Wanyama sat out during the first champions league match between his club Tottenham Hotspurs and Inter Milan.

Spurs lost 2-1 to the Italian side, in a tie played at the famous San Siro Stadium on Tuesday. 

The English side took the lead through Christian Eriksen, but second-half goals by Mauricio Icardi and Matias Vecino gave the Italian side the vital win.

Wanyama has been out injured since the start of the season, and could not travel to Kenya to face Ghana’s Black Stars in an AFCON qualifier. 

The Kenyan Captain has had a tough time at the London-based club, owing to the many injuries that dogged his season. 

He is expected to strengthen the team’s midfield, having in mind that they have lost their last two fixtures. 

Spurs went down 2-1 at home to Liverpool in the English Premier League match played on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium. 

In other fixtures of the night, Liverpool beat PSG 3-2 in a classic champions league fixture played at the Anfield.
