Three men were sentenced to death after being found guilty of killing a woman after robbing her.
Appearing before Moyale Principal Magistrate Edward Too on Wednesday, the three; Abdi Aden Isaak Samon, Mohammed Ibrahim Hassan, and Aliow Aden Hussein were found guilty of robbery with violence.
The court heard that the three stole money from Dunia Abdow Adennoor on April 5, 2019.
Adennoor is said to have handed them all the money she was carrying, hoping that they will not harm her.
The trio, however, killed her after stealing Sh400,000 and 150,000 Ethiopian Birr (Sh526,000) from her.
This incident is reported to have occurred at Jesuramu town in Mandera West in Mandera County.
The court, basing on the strong evidence obtained from witnesses, sentenced the suspects to death.
One of the accused, Mohammed Ibrahim Hassan is an ex-convict who had been previously been arrested in possession of ammunition.
However, he was freed after filing for an appeal.
The court has given the trio 14 days to appeal the sentence.
If their death sentence holds, the three will serve a life sentence.
