A primary school pupil by the name Fabian Kiptanui is said to have witnessed the incidence while on his way to school.

According to Fabian, the tree was producing strange sounds and voices and since then the elders from both the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities in the area have arranged a meeting to discuss the matter.

“I am the one who witnessed the tree fall and rise again. Am still perplexed because I have never seen such a thing in my life,” the class five pupil at Mwiruti Primary school was quoted by an online publication.

However, this strange event has elicited different reactions among the residents with many linking it to 2022 presidential leadership.

The tree which stands by the river banks of the border, between the two communities fell from the Kalenjin side to the Kikuyu side before rising again.

Yamumbi village harbours Kikuyus while Lemok harbours Kalenjins with a river serving as a border.

It is said the tree fell three weeks ago until some residents began fetching firewood from it but to their shock, the tree rose again, rejoined and began sprouting again as if nothing happened at all.

“I am personally linking this scenario to 2022 politics because there is no tree that can fall and reincarnate again. We need an explanation and meaning from the elders,” Paul Martin a resident said.
