Former Gor Mahia goalkeeper trainer Iddi Salim has landed a new job in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Salim, who previously served as Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards goalkeeping coach is now the new keeper trainer at the Sheikh Russel KC Football Club in Bangladesh.

“I'm now officially announced at Sheikh Russell KC of Dhaka as there (sic) new Goalkeeper Coach after signing a one year contract with the club,” Salim posted on his Facebook page - Abdul Iddi Salim.

Salim, who is an alumnus of Mombasa High School, was a celebrated goalkeeper in his heydays. 

He hung up his gloves in 2000 to concentrate on Professional goalkeeper training after playing for former Kenya Premier League side now defunct Utalii FC and Uganda’s Mbale Football Club.

Apart from Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, he recently served as goalkeeper trainer at the Kenya Premier League (KPL) debutants Wazito FC. The Club is currently bottom of the KPL log.

He also had an association with Slovakia’s third tier side MFK Topvar and Tanzania giants Simba SC as keeper trainer.

His new side Sheikh Russel KC participates in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The team won the Bangladesh Federation Cup in 2012, before winning their maiden Bangladesh Premier League in the season 2012/2013 season.
