Blame games featured with a section of locals blaming moderators while others turning their venom to area leaders.

"This is quite shameful. Our leaders fear scrutiny and all they can do is to stage-manage goons so that they evade scrutiny," said Menge Aruasa.

Another resident, Nick Kibeni added: "The county government is ashamed. It wants to use chaos in response to genuine concerns."

But some accused moderator Sorobi Moturi of being used by certain politicians to settle political scores.

"The moderator was biased. He asked certain questions as if he was deployed to do so. He was not genuine and they should take responsibility over the chaos," said Enock Mwebi.

Both the county leadership and the Egesa FM are yet to comment on the matter that dominated social media for the better part of Friday evening.

Security personnel attached to speaker Moffat Teya and six other ministers evacuated the leaders to safety as locals indiscriminately threw chairs in the Viongozi Center.

Trouble started when a section of MCAs accused the moderator of being used by former Deputy Speaker Duke Omoti to embarrass Mr. Teya.
