In a video he shared through his social media account on Tuesday, the first-term governor said that he is happy to have arrived safely. He, however, said that he was saddened by the news of the ailing football legend Joe Kadenge.

The governor, who has been on the forefront in charity projects, directed his team to visit the legend.

He also asked the members to ensure the football icon is accorded any assistance he needs to recover faster.

“I have been saddened by the news of our football legend Joe Kadenge who is hospitalized at Nairobi Hospital. I have instructed my team to pay Kadenge a visit and offer him any assistance needed by the family to ensure he gets quality medical attention in order to boost his recovery,” he said.

Sonko also thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for supporting the footballer’s family during these tough times.

Uhuru settled the outstanding medical bill on behalf of the footballer who has been an inspiration to generations.
