Kimeli, a student from the University of Eldoret is a happy man after winning a massive Sh105,000 in Germany, Mexico game played yesterday in the ongoing world cup competition.
The student placed a bet using Sh15,000 from his savings. He wanted to bet on Germany to win against Mexico on a live bet but he erroneously did the opposite.
"I was to bet on Germany to beat Mexico but since I was hurrying it because it was a live match and did not want the odds to change, I wrongly placed Mexico to win," said a happily looking Kimeli.
He said he could not cancel the bet as a live match once placed cannot be reversed. He was devastated and opted not to watch the match.
"After erroneously placing of the bet, I informed my friend about it. He sunk my heart more as he told me Germany cannot afford to lose the match since they are the reigning champions," he added.
Kimeli said he opted to spend his time in the room as he waited for any outcome. He was later informed by his friend who was watching the game that Mexico had won.
"I did not want to make a follow up on the game since I could be hurt more. My friend broke the good news that Mexico had won," he said.
Kimeli broke into jubilation and the neighbors joined to celebrate his miraculous win.
