Aisha Jumwa's plea to Raila after meeting with Uhuru

Malindi Town MP Aisha Jumwa has called for calm and unity among Kenyans as they continue to digest Presdient Uhuru Kenyatta's last week surprise meeting with NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking to journalist's  on the sidelines of the ODM Parliamentary Group meeting at the Orange House  in Nairobi on Tuesday, Jumwa said that there is no need for some politicians to throw tantrums and accusations over the Friday meeting.

She said that the Uhuru-Raila meeting provided a golden opportunity for NASA to continue pushing for electoral reforms agenda.

“Our main agenda and course as NASA is to reform the country and I think the meeting between President Kenyatta and Honorable Raila Amollo Odinga was a plus to us,” she said.

The vocal ODM lawmaker said that accusation's among affiliate NASA parties will only derail their mission in liberating the country.

She asked politicians feeling aggrieved by the meeting to think beyond their interests and consider the country’s state of affairs.

Jumwa assured Kenyans that Raila has not given up on reforms by deciding to work with Jubilee.

“He (Raila) is a clever politician and he cannot abandon a worth course that involves the interests of millions of Kenyans,” she said.

Jumwa  said that it is wrong for some politicians to label the former Prime Minister a betrayer when his actions in real sense depicts him as a statesman who values the interest of his people.

Raila has been under cricism from a section of politicians allied to NASA affiliate parties for meetng with Uhuru without the knowledge of other principal's.

On Monday, NASA principal's held a summit in Athi River where they agreed to push for wider and inclusive national unity and reconciliation dialogue.
