The two have been involved in a bitter exchange lately, a row that was kicked off following Odinga's claims that Jubilee is wrongly in power after the August 8 and October 26 controversial re-elections.

Speaking during a public lecture at the King's College in London on Friday, the National Super Alliance (NASA) boss further reiterated earlier claims that he was the actual winner in the first poll, allegations that did not go down well with the DP.

According to Weda, the President has, however, remained quiet, as the exchange has no effect on the unification mission he co-leads with the former Premier, hence his reluctance to intervene.

''The handshake was between Uhuru and Raila, rendering anyone else an outsider. The President does not see any need to calm the situation as its only him and Raila who can undo their handshake. Therefore, what is going on has no effect,'' he said on KBC English Service Wednesday.

He noted that worry should only creep in should either of the two tear into the other, a situation yet to happen.

''The handshake and its benefits will only face a threat when the two leaders withdraw themselves and their allies and supporters but that is not the case yet,'' added the High Court advocate.
