Shamim Doroso, a student at Kisii University, was discovered dead on her seat despite having complained of unconsciousness in Narok Town according to eye witnesses.

"Yes she is one of our student. We are doing all we can to reach the family before we give a comprehensive report," said the institution's Dean of Students Francis Kerongo.

Earlier, a passenger who spoke in confidence said the young lady had been allowed to have a rest on the way to the City near Narok and that they discovered of her unconsciousness after she took long to return.

An on social media, Kenyans did not spare their wrath as they bashed both passengers and the driver for negligence.

"It beats logic that passengers passed all the hospitals to Nairobi despite having discovered her condition. This is inhumane," wrote Vincent Osumo.

Justine Abere said: "Transline should take responsibility by sacking the driver. He should have owned the matter when they first recognised her worsening condition."

Similar sentiments were aired by Nyamira Women Representative Jerusha Momanyi who called for probe on the matter.

"This matter must be probed as soon as possible. It does nor make sense that the driver proceeded with the journey even after having known her condition."

But popular Egesa FM Presenter Nancy Omweri defended passengers insisting that at times people act with caution when travelling with strangers.

While her body was taken to City Mortuary, the transport provider is yet to issue a comprehensive statement following Shamim's death.
