The residents are now demanding that the area leaders come clear and state their position regarding the issuance of certain vacancies to interested applicants.

Taking to social media, they said that some MCAs had unfairly delegated jobs to their close relatives and friends at the expense of other qualified residents.

"Dear Kibra MCA'sHizi nafasi ziko ama zimepeanwa? Each MCA is entitled to an office that should be located within the ward. These offices have a quarterly budget of 300,000. An MCA is supposed to employ ONLY THREE staffs- The Office Manager at 25,000shs monthly, A Personal Assistant at 20,000shs and a Guard at 15,000," said Moses Omondi, a resident.

The residents said that some leaders had resorted to awarding jobs to their immediate family members while others gave them out to sex partners.

"These employees SHOULD'NT be drawn from an MCA's family or close relatives. The same MCA is supposed to rent a facility which shouldn't be within a government/public premises or his/her own or relative's place at maximum of 20,000shs monthly rent. Be informed!" Omondi added.
