Atwoli said the pair can't get along and their work relationship won't last long even if Miguna took up the position.

"He (Sonko) has given Kenyans and Nairobians a subject for debate," Atwoli said in an interview with Citizen television.

"They can't get along, from where I am seated, they can't get along, but in politics anything is possible."

Sonko appointed Miguna as his deputy on Wednesday and the move has elicited multiple reactions from across the political divide as well as ordinary Kenyans.

Whereas other people welcomed Sonko's new appointment, other rejected it on grounds that the two can't work together because of Miguna's aggressiveness.

Some politicians from Jubilee have already threatened to impeach Sonko over the move which they claim is being used by the county chief to fight State House. Miguna is currently in Canada after being deported over government claims that he is not a Kenyan.

Sonko on Friday clarified that he chose Miguna because of his combative leadership style and believes he can fight cartels in Nairobi.
