"Bikes have become a death trap for boda-boda riders. I urge riders to adhere traffic rules and regulations to ensure no life is lost through accidents," he said.

He also said cases of riders being killed by thieves who pose as customers have been on the rise.

"Some people pretend to be customers who later attacks, kills the riders and steal the bikes. All riders should get to know the passengers they better so that they are not robbed off their bikes," added Nyamwesi.

He challenged riders who have not registered with the association to do so.

"Anyone who has not registered will be barred from carrying passengers and parking at boda-boda sheds across the ward because we will assume they are not from within," he said.
