Ruiru Sports Club will on Saturday host more than 200 golfers in a tournament dubbed “The friends of the vice-captain (Peter Mwaura) golf day”.

Being the first in 2018, this year’s tournament is expected to be one of the most exciting editions of all time.

Speaking at Ruiru Sports Club today (Thursday), the Golfers Club captain Antony Kamau affirmed that all the preparations were complete the upcoming event has never been experienced before in the country thereby calling on Ruiru and greater Kiambu residents to attend.

“This marks the first of a series of big golf events lined up at the Club this year, as you may be aware, on Monday this week the Club Chairman Father Mwaura won the clergy and friends golf; he will be facing off a stiff competition from Lawrence Gachara who won the Mini Masters last weekend,” said the Captain.

Other key golfers expected to offer stiff competition to the clergyman include recent winners S.M Kihiro, Prof Machocho and C. Kiiyukia.

According to Kamau, the golf challenge on Saturday will not only be a game but also a training session for novice players who are interested in pursuing golf as a source of livelihood other than a hobby.

“The amateur golfers will have to do something new where each will face a stiff competition from a stronger and experienced on in the world of golf,” said Kamau.
