Human Rights activist Ken Wafula is dead.

Wafula, 45, died Wednesday morning at the St Luke's Hospital in Eldoret.

He was admitted to the facility yesterday suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.

Wafula, until his death, was the director of Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (CHRD).

Five days ago, Wafula threatened to take legal action against the county government of Uasin Gishu over county askaris brutality against hawkers.

Wafula was accused of fixing Deputy President William Ruto and radio host Joshua Arap Sang to the International Criminal Court. He denied the accusations.

In 2015, he changed tune and withdrew his support for the ICC cases after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria recorded a statement with the police claiming that witnesses had been procured and coached to frame the suspects.

“Everyone thought that I fixed Ruto and Sang. Now that Kuria had come out, the truth could finally be known,” said Wafula at the time.
