The Kenya Conference of Catholic bishops have asked politicians and other leaders to embrace dialogue and tolerance for the sake of peace in the country.

The bishops on Saturday speaking at Afraha Stadium said the prolonged political stalemate in the country is bad and will hurt the economy.

Led by the conference chairman Philip Anyolo, they said Jubilee and NASA leaders should drop the hard stance and allow President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to engage in talks.

“We are encouraging our political leaders to see the need for dialogue to ensure there is peace, unity and tolerance in the country,” he said.

Anyolo stated that Kenyans will be at peace if the leaders will be at the forefront to fight for peace and not inciting them to fight each other.
