The new driving syllabus introduced by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has attracted resistance from owners of driving schools in Central and Eastern parts of Kenya.Their resistance has been fueled by the fear that the new syllabus might spell doom for their businesses.Stephene Mwangi, the chairman of the driving schools owners, said that the syllabus would result in massive job losses as many of the schools would have o close down.''Learners, with the implementation of the new syllabus, will have to pay more than usual. What's shocking to us is that if they want to learn in a different category, they will have to do so after five years,'' Mr. Mwangi told the media yesterday. The new syllabus was introduced as part of a raft of measures aimed at reducing the deadly carnage on Kenya's roads.
