Nyaribo said the escalating cases of insecurity in the region are likely to scare investors who have already invested in the county and those who have plans to invest in the county.

"This is Matiang'i's backyard. He should visit the region alone and assess the security situation so that he can see what to do to beef up security. We don't want investors to run away because of insecurity," he said.

Nyaribo stated that residents are living in fear because criminal activities are on the rise in the county.

"The number of criminals is increasing each day. It is time Matiang'i should do something to improve security because our people are living in fear and they may end up going to invest outside the county instead of investigating in Nyamira.

"Tight security will boost the economy in the county because traders and residents will be moving freely without fearing for their lives," he said.

This comes after residents of Mwongori-Gesima in Borabu sub county on Wednesday protested over increased security.

The locals barricaded roads paralyzing transport saying Matiang'i should resign immediately because he has failed to beef up security at his own home.
