South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro speaking at Kisii Deliverance Church in Kisii on Sunday said many youths in remote villages are poor since they depend on cheap money from politicians.

The lawmaker said youths should form small groups to apply for loans to help them start businesses to earn a living.

“I call on youths to come up with business ideas that will see them get support from leaders to earn a living. Youths should start thinking of tomorrow and not the cheap money they are offered by politicians," he noted.

Osoro said leaders alone won’t succeed to achieve the set development goals if there will be no support from the community.

“We should work as a team to develop our respective regions and this can only be achieved by all of us venturing into activities that are profitable," he added.
