Kisii Catholic Bishop Joseph Mairura said Governor Ongwae in his first term failed to give priority to the church something that led to his poor performance.

"Ongwae in his first term of leadership as Kisii governor failed to give priority to the church especially when addressing challenges such as workers’ strikes. I am appealing to him not to do the same in his second term. Church leaders should be involved when making decisions that touch people’s lives,” he said.

Mairura urged elected and nominated County MCAs to stop small fights and focus on passing Bills to develop the county.“

"MCAs should stop divisive politics and focus on delivering services to improve the lives of our people. Residents deserve good roads, improved health care, education among other developments and this will only be achieved if the MCAs pass more Bills for more projects to be initiated in the County,” he said.

He urged Kisii residents not to be used by politicians to fight each other.

"Residents should be patient to allow political leaders deliver quality services. Political losers should not spread hate and spread propaganda about those who are still in office,” added Mairura.
