Uasin Gishu leaders have hit out at Nakuru politicians for allegedly meddling into the affairs of the county.

The leaders, led by Uasin Gishu deputy governor, asked Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri  to keep off the county's affairs.

The development came after the two Nakuru leaders accused the government of Governor Jackson Mandago of targeting Kikuyu hawkers in his county.

Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno, said leaders must be allowed to run their counties.

"We are not an extension of Nakuru or any other county. We are an independent entity and cannot be dictated by leaders from outside," Chemno said.

He said their administration has not targeted anyone.

"We live together as one community in Eldoret and anyone cannot start lecturing us on what to do here. They should stop meddling in Uasin Gishu issues."
