Senate Minority Leader James Orengo continued with his dominance in the corridors or justice on Thursday after winning two major cases.
In Nairobi, Orengo, acting jointly with Otiendo Amollo, Tom Ojienda and Antony Oluoch had Justice Erastus Githinji dismissing an application by Oyugi Magwanga compelling Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti depositing Sh20 million in court.
On behalf of Magwanga, lawyer Charles Kanjama had filed an applicatiojn compelling the ODM governor to deposit the money as security to Sh4 million awarded by High Court in the election petition that Awiti had lost.
Miles in Kisumu, Orengo had Justice Philip Waki throwing away an appeal launched by former Governor Jack Ranguma who had challenged Governor Anyang' Nyong'o High Court victory.
Last year, Orengo along with lawyers Otiende, Okong'o Mogeni, Pheroze Nowrojee among others successfully represented Raila Odinga in a Presidential petition.
Christened a walking constitution, Orengo rarely loses court battles and in his own admission, he doesn't participate in cases without merit.
The landmark nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory was the first of its kind in Africa and Orengo has been credited for his masterly in legal field.
