At Nakuru, an agitated Ruto accused ODM of hiding in Jubilee to sneak the changes at the expense of development.

"I want them to know that our objective is to complete the development projects and we have no time to engage in politics on power sharing. Those who think they can subject us to referendums should forget," Ruto said.

Th debate about introduction of parliamentary system of government has been the talk of the town since Raila reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While Raila has kept mum about a suspected referendum to scrap imperial presidency, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has reiterate constitutional amendment plan is unstoppable.

"If Kenyans decide that the solution to their problem is through the change of the constitution, nobody will deter us.

"As ODM, we want to assure you that every solution to our problem will be discussed on the table. The handshake must work."

Although Uhuru has snubbed the constitutional amendment debates, sources intimate that the agenda was one of key issues he agreed with Uhuru.

Should the constitution be amended, the leader of the majority party will be the PM and thus the head of government. The weak president will also be elected by MPs, an idea Ruto has vehemently objected.
