Ruto said the Judiciary should ensure corrupt officials when arraigned in courts are sent to jail to serve as a warning to others with intentions to steal public funds.

“Our courts are frustrating the government agencies especially EACC in fighting corruption. They should be reasonable in prosecuting the cases," he said.

He said the economy of the country will deteriorate if corruption will not end.

“Theft of public funds and dubious dealings are affecting the country’s economy. I call upon relevant agencies and other stakeholders to step up efforts to ensure corruption comes to an end in this country,” he added.

He said suspects should not be released on bond or cash bail because corruption has become rampant in the country. DP Ruto was speaking on Friday at St. Paul Nyabururu Teachers Training College in Kitutu Chache South.
