At the start of his speech, Ruto said that he was impressed by Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala’s presentation during the event. He said that he would have given him a straight if he was asked to award marks.

"If I were to award marks for the presentation, I would give CS Balala an A for passion and A for facts," he began.

He, however, said that Balala forgot to speak about the Weston Hotel, where he has interests, causing laughter among the attends.

"He even mentioned all the Hotel brands in Nairobi, even though he forgot to mention the famous Weston Hotel,"

He assured different stakeholders that the government is committed to ensuring development in the tourism sector. He also said that the Jubilee government will address the threats facing the wildlife and environment sector.

The Weston Hotel came into the limelight after several high profile guests were hospitalized because of cholera outbreak in Nairobi and its environs.
