Mr Ruto called on Dado to respect the current governor Godhana Dhadho as he was elected by the majority of the county residents.

''I call on the former governor to work with and respect the current governor, as he is the leader of this county, elected by the majority in the county,” the deputy president said.

His words came in the context of vicious rivalry between Governor Dhadho and his predecessor.

DP Ruto warned that the antagonism between the two would hurt development in the county and its people.

He said that those by the national government should not use their positions to harass governors in the county.

Mr Dado is the Devolution Chief Administrative Secretary.

Ruto spoke on Tuesday in the county.
