Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has made a passionate appeal to the opposition to take its oversight role very seriously for the smooth functioning of Kenya's democracy.
He said that the Uhuru second-term administration was open to scrutiny and criticism from the opposition as it seeks to deliver on its agenda.
''As the parliament, we will be vetting the cabinet secretaries nominees and it is crucial that both sides of the political spectrum participate in it,'' Duale said during a session with the U.S Ambassador to Kenya, Robert Godec.
Duale's plea comes in the context of intransigence from the opposition members who maintain that they will not participate in the vetting of the nominees.
