Mr Duale said Miguna will return in the country soon this is after he was deported to Canada three months ago.

The Garissa Township MP said the government will make plans to ensure the lawyer is allowed entry at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

He said they will make arrangements to have his Kenyan passport sent to him to facilitate his travel back in the country.

Speaking during the annual Somali Community Cultural Festival held in Eastleigh, Mr Duale revealed that the move is aimed at uniting the country following the dramatic deportation of the self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) General, Miguna.

The MP said that Miguna’s deportation to Canada had deeply divided the country and could affect the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nasa leader Raila Odinga as they seek to unite the country.

“Miguna will return very soon. Miguna is a Kenyan. He will receive a heroic reception at the airport. He will conduct series of meetings in Kisumu and other parts of the country.”

“His supporters are unhappy. We are going to ensure he is back in the country. We want him back so that we can unite Kenyans and in 2022 he can contest in the general elections,” Mr Duale said.

Miguna postponed his return into the country saying that the Immigration Department was yet to furnish him with a valid Kenyan passport as directed by the court.
