All candidates who applied for the position of Members of the East African Legislative Assembly will know their fate on Thursday afternoon.
The Joint Select Committee tasked with the mandate will table their report in both houses of parliament on Thursday after intense lobbying by nominees.
A total of 27 nominees 15 from Jubilee and 12 from NASA are battling out for the nine available slots to represent Kenya in the Arusha-based regional assembly.
Parliament was to go on recess Thursday but legislators unanimously passed a motion to alter the calendar of the House and extended the sittings to Thursday next week.
The MPs are expected to conduct elections for the candidates next week before embarking on a long Christmas break and resuming back on February 13, 2018.
Kenya is the only member state that is yet to submit names for the nine members to the regional assembly.
