The European Parliament made the October 26 presidential election rerun that was boycotted by the Kenyan opposition an agenda to be discussed today. As Kenyan institutions came under attack from the speakers, the Judiciary was not spared.''Evidence shows that Kenyan independent institutions were constantly under attack. The independence of the Judiciary was put into question. It is unfortunate that the Supreme Court was unable to hear a case seeking the postponement of the rerun. Was pressure applied to the judges?'' I ask,'' Charles Tannok, a European Parliament Member, said. The debate comes days after the release of the EU Observer Mission report which cast a rather unflattering glare on the conduct of the rerun.Members called for the rule of law and dialogue going forward.
