In an exclusive phone conversation with South Mugirango MP Sylnus Osoro, slain pilot Barbara Kamau had expressed desire to ditch flying of small aircraft due to poor weather.

And two weeks ago, Barbara would reportedly lose contact with Wilson Airport's control before crashing in Aberdares in which nine other people died.

But in his tribute, Osoro noted that he had spoken to Barbara who revealed that she was not comfortable with operating small aircraft especially in Nairobi's June weather.

"She called me hours before the crash and said she had contemplated quitting flying of small aircraft for bigger ones.

"The main reason behind it was the poor Nairobi weather which she said can easily tamper with small planes and even crash. I am sad that she didn't manage to fulfill her dreams," he said.

While Aviation Authority maintains that the plane crashed due to poor aberdare weather, sources within JKIA insist that she was misled to abandon her initial route on way to Nairobi.

It is also argued by insiders at Wilson that the control delayed in handing over the plane to JKIA before Barbara lost control and subsequently crashed.
